The Geneva Lakes Area and Walworth County have a huge variety of unique businesses, events and community gatherings that you won’t want to miss. The Geneva Lakes Area comes alive in the summer with several festivals! We have Ribfest, Venetian Fest, and the Walworth County Fair, and you won’t want to miss any of them! We also have a great variety of farmer’s markets throughout the entire county, where you can get one of a kind artisan goods and yummy fresh produce, flowers and treats. If this is your first time to the area, you will love a lake tour by the Lake Geneva Cruise Line! . While summer is the showstopper, we also have plenty to do in the fall and winter including several ski hills, Autumn Festivals and Winterfest! Just a warning though… you may fall in love with this gorgeous area and never want to leave! October 2024

October in Lake Geneva is a gorgeous time of year, and in 2024, we’re having fantastic weather! Visitors are coming in for the lake cruises, the shore path, and all the fall festivals!

October 11th-13th – Lake Lawn Resort is hosting their Annual Family Fall Festival. This event is open to the public and includes pumpkin painting, wagon rides, tasty treats, family yard games and more! You can take a boat tour on the Lake Lawn Queen and get a great view of the fall leaves around the lake and fill those bellies with lots of food and snacks. October 11th – The Abbey Resort is hosting a Murder Mystery Party from 7pm-9pm. The theme is: Til Death do Us Part – All is Fair in Love and Murder. You get a lot of fun and a three course dinner! Grab your tickets here! 

October 10-13th – Turtle Lake Tap and Grill is hosting their Oktoberfest with great Bavarian culture, food and drinks! Traditional music on Saturday from 3pm-6pm. More info on their website. 

Rocky the Musical is playing on various dates in October at the Fireside Dinner Theatre in Fort Atkinson, WI. More info and to purchase tickets here. 

October 11th-12th – A Supertramp Tribute Band is playing at the Belfry Music Theatre in Williams Bay. Tickets available here. 

Yerkes Observatory is offering Great Refractor Tours throughout October. Exploring the Night Sky is a 2 hour immersion into the cosmos with the largest refracting telescope in the world. You can purchase tickets here.

October 11th – Joe Diamond – The Official Mind Reader is at the Maxwell Mansion from 8:30pm-11:30pm. For a unique experience, head out to see Joe! You can find more info here.

October 11th and October 25th – Black Point Estate and Gardens is hosting “Spiritualism in the Victorian Era” where you’ll experience the stories of people in the 1800s connecting with deceased friends and loved ones. More info here.

Dan Patch Stables at Grand Geneva is hosting their annual Haunted Hayride throughout the weekends in October. Tickets are sold at the door on a first come, first serve basis starting at 5:45pm for that evening. They have concessions and a bonfire as well! Website for more info here. 

October 11, 18 & 25th – The East Troy Railroad Museum is hosting their Trick or Treat Train Rides for kids (and their grownups) in costume. You’ll ride the train from the East Troy train depot to Town Hall Park and back again. After the train ride, each child gets to pick their perfect pumpkin. Tickets available here. 

October 12-13th – Downtown Lake Geneva’s Oktoberfest is back with a beer garden, artisan market, treats, family activities and live entertainment. More info here!
